This Out 26 showing occurs in an area of scattered mineralization within Pennsylvanian basaltic augite porphyry and andesite. And area of granite occurs to the northeast and is likely related to the Late Devonian Forrest Kerr Plutonic Suite which is mapped in that area.

In the Out 26 area the assemblage consists almost entirely of andesite which varies from tuffaceous to crystalline in appearance. It contains minor beds of chert and limestone and is frequently dioritized. The andesite is strongly sheared, chloritic and somewhat calcareous.

Quartz and quartz-calcite veins are associated with dominant northeast shears in the andesite. These are found to contain traces of chalcopyrite, malachite, magnetite and hematite. The shears also contain epidote and chlorite. Chalcopyrite also occurs with the granite (Map 4, Assessment Report 4368).

Refer to IN 32 (104G 080) for details of exploration work completed on the In, Out and C claims by Hecla Operating Company, from 1971 to 1973 inclusive.
